Scientific paper presentations will be divided into two groups: platform presentations and poster presentations. Please mark your preference on the “Abstract Submission Form”. The Program Committee will honor your preference whenever possible and contact you for your approval should changes be needed. The presenting author of each paper will be required to register (any category) for the meeting. Abstracts may be submitted in English or in Chinese.
Registrants intend to apply for registration-fees assistance are encouraged to select platform presentations and to submit the full content of their presentations along with the abstracts. |

Use the conference’s “Abstract Submission Form” for abstract submission. Selection of a preferred presentation mode (platform or poster) is required. Other required information:
- The presenting author: last (family) and given name; primary professional affiliation; complete mailing address; telephone number (including country code); and e-mail address.
- Non-presenting author(s): last (family) and given name; primary professional affiliation.
Follow the exact format of the attached “exemplar abstract” to prepare your abstract. Please pay attention to the following specifics:
- MS Word 2003 or 2007 format.
- Length (content of the abstract itself): 200–500 words.
- Font type: Times New Roman for English; BiauKai for Chinese.
- Font size: title, 14; professional affiliation, 10; all others, 12.
- Use boldface for title, authors’ names, “Keywords”, and “Abstract”.
- Underline the presenting author’s name.

- Platform (Oral) Presentation
Only MS PowerPoint presentations for display on LCD will be accepted. Presenting authors are encouraged to consult professional guidelines for the preparation of effective slides. Save your PowerPoint presentations in PowerPoint 2003 or 2007 format and e-mail them to tafs@mail.cpu.edu.tw no later than October 15, 2011.
Each presentation will be allotted a 15-minute time block. Presenters are expected to complete their presentations in 10–12 minutes, allowing 3–5 minutes for question-and-answer time.
- Poster Presentation
Each poster presentation will be assigned a 1-m x 2-m tack board on which to display material related to the presentation.
Suggested contents/headings for the presentation are: presentation title, author(s), author’s primary affiliation(s); objective; materials and methods; results and discussion; conclusion/summary. Authors have complete freedom to choose ways of displaying their information in figures, tables, text, etc.; however, they should avoid crowding too much information into a limited space.
Posters must be mounted between 10:20 and 10:40 and removed between 14:50 and 15:10. Presenting authors are required to be available at their posters between 12:20 and 13:00.
